DESIGN
I am passionate about creating awareness and building connections across a community. Design and content creation are tools I use to accomplish this goal.
Using primarily Adobe CC and Canva, I design a variety of media to communicate through flyers, website graphics, social media, emails, newsletters, reports, and more.
Newsletter
I grew the Brentwood Library Newsletter to be a consistent and engaging presence that patrons use as a resource each month. Using InDesign and Canva I created a print and digital newsletter that lives on the website and is available in patron inboxes. Within the document, subscribers click directly to live calendar links and sign up for programs they want to attend. This increased program attendance and raised awareness about library offerings.
PSA Information
Calls to action are a common need at the library. I often made media that asked for participation from the community or communicated where funding was being used. I have also done work for additional non-profits, including the Friends of TN Libraries.
Branding
Top-to-bottom visual consistency is key to maintaining a recognizable brand. Branding goes beyond your color palette and font choices, it’s the images you use, the words you choose, and the programs you offer.
Thinking Outside the Box
While brand consistency is the number one priority, pushing the creative approach shouldn’t be out of the question. I’ve gotten the most engagement when I treat my audience like they are people and follow the current culture or excite a little nostalgia.
Brentwood Library Rebrand
It’s important to audit and refresh your brand periodically. I updated the branding guides for the Library and the Friends of the Brentwood Library in 2021.
